NASA will host a virtual briefing on June 30 to outline the next phase of its Moon Base program, including upcoming lunar lander contract awards and the agency’s roadmap for a sustained human foothold on the Moon.

The Moon Base initiative is designed as a long‑term effort to construct the facilities and logistics needed for continuous habitation on the lunar surface, moving beyond isolated missions toward a permanent outpost.

The session will be led by NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman together with Carlos García‑Galán, manager of the Moon Base effort. Both officials will brief attendees on recent progress and explain how the forthcoming lander contracts fit into NASA’s broader lunar strategy.

Lunar Lander Contract Selections to Be Unveiled

A central element of the briefing will be the announcement of the next round of lunar lander mission awards. According to the NASA release, Jared Isaacman and Carlos García‑Galán will discuss the selections and outline future opportunities within the Moon Base program.

Details on the specific missions or contractors have not been disclosed; the briefing will instead focus on the next steps in expanding lunar surface exploration.

Vision for a Permanent Lunar Outpost

The Moon Base program is presented as a multi‑year campaign to establish the infrastructure required for a durable human presence on the Moon, while also encouraging scientific investigation and commercial ventures across the lunar landscape.

NASA frames the effort as part of a broader Golden Age of innovation and exploration, where astronauts will undertake increasingly ambitious missions that yield scientific breakthroughs and economic returns.

Experience gained from these lunar operations is also intended to lay the groundwork for the first crewed journeys to Mars. The June 30 briefing will provide the latest official update on how the Moon Base roadmap is advancing toward that longer‑term goal.
