SALT TOLERANCE TEST

Objective:

To test organism's ability to tolerate various osmotic concentrations.

Test Procedure

  1. Use a sterile loop or needle to inoculate broth tubes with different salt concentrations.
  2. Incubate at the optimum temperature for 48-96 hours.

Interpretation

  • Positive = growth
  • Negative = no growth
